Week 49: Corn Chowder
I was walking down 33rd street the other day, on my way to ten ichi to replenish my resurfaced Pocky obsession, when I was the most lovely corns on the cob on sale at United Bros.
Now anyone worth their salt knows that you cannot simply judge a cob based on appearance alone. You must test its aroma, its texture, its sweetness, and its overall corniness. So I pick up a few cobs and took them home to investigate further. I was pleasantly surprised. For this early in the corn season those cobs were pretty damn corny. I’m not one to waste an opportunity. So this week’s soup is Corn Chowder!
Stanley say it isn’t so! The main ingredient in my corn chowder is actually love AND the very delicious corns on the cob.
Corn, vegetable stock, bay leaf, fennel seeds, coriander seeds, butter, onion, garlic, flour, potatoes, salt, pepper, half-and-half
